Lorinda's Bike MS Story
My first MS ride on Saturday September 7th 2013, started with a drizzling day. We started our ride at 7:00am and road up to deception pass and across the bridge. The road to deception pass is steep, narrow, full of debris and tons of traffic. Every time I was in a treacherous or difficult spot I was thinking of all the people I know who suffer from MS. I am thankful I had this opportunity to contribute.
The people we met were all fabulous and supportive! I was especially touched when I was having a hard time getting up a hill and another rider would pass me with words of encouragement. And when Sam lead all six of us to the finish in the last 8 miles at over 17 miles an hour!
The organizers, volunteers, and our team really looked out for our wellbeing. From setting the goal to do the ride, training for the ride, riding 60 miles the farthest I have ever ridden and connecting with all of you during the process made the whole experience very rewarding. I want to thank each and every one of you for supporting me with my ride. Our team raised over 76,000 and that does not include the matching funds.
I am looking forward to doing more and I have already signed up for next year!
Thank you so much it means the world to me! Let’s put an end to this!
Attached are some fun pictures

Please Donate to Fight MS!
Dear Friends and Family,
I have taken on the challenge of riding for MS on September 7th. Last Saturday I rode all the way around Lake Washington up and down the hills for over 50 miles. I have never really trained for anything like this before and I imagine it’s even harder to live with MS.
Dollar by dollar, Bike MS is changing lives. That's why I registered for Bike MS and why I'm asking you to support my fundraising efforts with a tax-deductible donation.
I am dedicating my ride to my Boy Friend Bob Cook who lost his mother to MS when he was a senior in high school. He also lost his wife and the mother of his beautiful children Kimberly and Lisa Renee a few years back from MS. I recently attended my High school reunion and my boyfriend from High school Jay Kroeplin and his father both are suffering from MS.
It just seems to keep entering the lives of people I know and care about. My father in laws wife Carol passed from MS in Cape Cod several years ago and one of our former team mates here at Lorinda’s Kristine Maxwell has MS.
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is dedicated to creating a world free of MS but they can't do it without our help. It's faster and easier than ever to support this cause. Simply click the link below to visit my page and make an online donation or contact me about making a donation by check.
Your donation supports critical funds to support local programs and cutting-edge research. Your donation puts us closer to realizing our promise to STOP MS in its tracks, RESTORE lost function and END MS forever. Ending MS means no one will receive an MS diagnosis again. Every dollar helps. Every connection matters.
Please support my ride any contribution would truly be appreciated. I chose to join the BP Team with Sam Miller as they match some of our funds! It is a great opportunity to really make a difference.
Please click the link below to find out more and make donations.
Thank you Lorinda Warner (Lori)

DevaCurl Defined
"When the original curly girl and best-selling author Lorraine Massey began creating curl-friendly formulas for her own curls, she discovered two things that turned hair care on its head. First, curly hair needs to be treated differently than other hair textures. Second, sham-“poo” and its dehydrating ingredients is curly hair’s worst enemy.
What happened next started a CURL-volution!
Free your inner Curl. Do the Deva 3-Step and discover three simple steps to perfect curls."
What happened next started a CURL-volution!
Free your inner Curl. Do the Deva 3-Step and discover three simple steps to perfect curls."
This the the statement from the DevaCurl Website. Today we had the pleasure of hosting Exclusive DevaCurl Educators at Lorinda's for continuing education. The focus was on the DevaCurl Waterfall Haircut and 3-step program!
DevaCurl is a lifestyle. Give DevaCurl 30 days and they will give you back your beautiful curls!
Do the Deva 3-Step
Embracing your curls begins with a proven three-step hair care technique: Cleanse. Hydrate. Define. That’s the Deva 3-Step. No matter your curl type: S'wavy, Wavy, Botticelli or Corkscrew, doing the Deva 3-Step guarantees naturally gorgeous and frizz free, manageable curls.
It is that simple.
By nature, curly hair tends to be dry. Without sufficient moisture, curls become dehydrated, resulting in frizz. The combination of DevaCurl No-Poo, DevaCurl One Condition and DevaCurl Light Defining Gel
provides curls with the ideal balance of conditioning, moisturization, and definition.
The Deva cutting technique is a uniquely different and proven method for curl cutting. The Deva Cut is performed using only a scissor and nothing else. Stylists are trained to cut hair in a precise manner that preserves the integrity of each curl. Hair is cut dry, in its natural form, curl by curl.

American Cancer Society Auction
Lorinda's recently donated to a wonderful event held on May 4th for the American Cancer Society. We recieved this wonderful message from Ginny!
You are welcome Ginny and we wish you success with your continued work.
Dear LeeAnn and Lorinda,
I want you to know how VERY appreciative I am of your donation to the American Cancer Society auction on May 4. Your generous contribution of a pedicure (which I personally LOVE) is wonderful! BUT, I was completely overcome that you contributed party favors for our goodie bags for all of our guests! I really didn’t understand what you were saying, so I know I did not respond appropriately. Thank you SO much for thinking of this and even having it all ready to go! It will be such a nice bonus. This has been a very difficult year for this event and we find ourselves behind the pace of last year. So, getting this bonus was incredibly uplifting for me on a personal level.
Thank you very much!
See you this week,
Ginny Eschbach
If you are interested in recieving a donation for your non-profit event please contact us directly at:

As some of you know, I have been struggling with caring for a mentally ill loved one. In my search for answers and help I have joined a 12 week course through the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI). This course has been amazing and given me tools and resource options to help care for my loved one. I wish I had been aware of this years ago when my loved one’s first episodes of suicide, psychotic breaks, mania and depression appeared.
Mental illness is a horrific brain disorder that has two devastating impacts on the individuals that others cannot see. This impact includes the loss of a natural protective belief that they are exempt from harm and the loss of a predictable and dependable future. These losses create a permanent anxiety disorder of fear. Then they turn to coping strategies that can be hurtful, combative and destructive to protect their self-worth, self-esteem, identity and self-confidence. Many of the behaviors of the people with mental illness do not make sense to their families, refusing to take medication, rejecting family support, community programs, and even disrupting family life. These behaviors are often directly related to their struggle to maintain some dignity and self-respect in the face of the stigma, failure, and shame. The mentally ill can be stuck at the physical age they were when first presented with symptoms.
The people most impacted by these negative, hurtful and destructive behaviors are the caregivers. The parents, siblings, friends, and or family who have chosen not to abandon their sick loved ones. This is a hard and difficult choice and without the correct support and information to help it can leave the caregiver feeling helpless and futile.
It has been my experience that our healthcare system is out of touch and unavailable to the mentally ill and their families. Often times this leads to the severely ill being abandoned and they are left impoverished with no care until something more tragic happens. Let’s remember the victims of Sandy Hook, Colorado and Columbine among the other tragedy’s we have experienced lately and try to help those who are helping the mentally ill!
There IS HOPE!
NAMI is providing that hope. I am so grateful to have found an organization to help me learn how to work with and understand and help my mentally ill family member.

How YOU can help!
The ninth NAMI Walk of Washington will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Kirkland’s Marina Park.
The walk is the major fundraiser for the National Alliance on Mental Illness affiliates across the state and NAMI Washington. NAMI’s operations, including its extensive education and support programs, are supported almost entirely by volunteers.
The NAMI Walk of Washington also serves to remind people that serious mental illness is not uncommon and that people can recover with the right treatment. The event emphasizes that NAMI exists across Washington to help individuals with serious mental illness and their family members.
Please join with me in supporting this event by following this link and giving generously.

DS Labs Comes to Lorinda's!
April 23, 2012
DS Labs Continued Education
Roger Forbush was the educator updating us on the newest technology and products for hair growth with DS Labs.
Roger Forbush from DS Labs came to Lorinda's to share with and update our team on the latest products and technology for hair growth.
Spectral.DNC-S delivers effectiveness with a better feel. Spectral.DNC-S delivers later-stage hair-recovery effectiveness for both men and women, while maintaining a pleasant texture and a healthy environment for the scalp, unlike formulas with generic minoxidil, which leaves a greasy, sticky residue, and can be irritating for many.
Spectral.DNC-S is a completely new innovation for the treatment of thinning hair. After several years of exhaustive research , DS Laboratories has discovered several compounds from natural sources which mimic and exceed the activity of pharmaceutical treatments but with greatly reduced side effects. These compounds are deployed in a unique cosmetic formulation. It is our most potent and advanced formulation to date and provides an entirely new mechanism of action.
Furthermore, this formulation utilizes powerful ingredients in two separate chambers that enables the use of materials thatg are otherwise not compatible and also a higher concentration of ingredients then a single formulation could hold.
The team at Lorinda's are your hair doctors. If you are experiencing hair loss due to hormones, illness, stress, or for any other multitude of reasons see the team at Lorinda's for your own personal prescription. Hair loss takes time and so does the reverse. Get a before picture courtesy of Lorinda's to follow your own progress.
Roger had a good piece of advice regarding using hair regrowth products. He asked. "Do you use toothpaste just once and expect your teeth to stay clean?" You need to use and continue to use your DS Labs products regularily for best results!
