The Washington State Cosmetology Apprenticeship Program (or WSCAP) began as a program for advanced education for licensed cosmetology professionals. WSCAP has grown into a rigorous, hands-on learning opportunity for cosmetology students, providing them with an experience unlike any other. This program now allows cosmetology students to receive hands-on training in an approved salon or spa environment as an employee with pay and benefits. WSCAP is state regulated by the Department of Licensing and Labor and Industries, and as such this program requires more hours than traditional training—more than double.
Lorinda’s Salon, Spa & Store’s very own Artistic Designer, Tiffany Dietz, is on the Board of Directors for WSCAP. Tiffany provides her expertise in training and education to help decision making for the Rules and Regulations of WSCAP. Her years of work in the salon industry and curriculum development contribute to her proficiency in developing rules and regulations for this unique learning opportunity.
